vBulletin Spam

by admin on December 5, 2010

The Forum Finder is a forum directory, probably the biggest on the web. Because of that we obviously have a keen interest in forums and how they are run. vBulletin seems to be the most used forum software used and it does run some of the biggest forums. This make it the target of the spammers, those low lifers who think nothing more of abusing other people web properties to further their own needs. They use forum profiles to build links; the spam post to promote products and the spam post just to link drop signatures to their website (and forum signatures are useless to build backlinks anyway, so they obviously missed that memo). They use computer bots and other devious means to sneak the links past forums owners. They seem to think what they are doing is legitimate internet marketing. If its legitimate, then how come they have to be sneaky and how come so many of them get banned from the forums for doing it? vBulletin spam is a big problem and forum administrators have to put in place many strategies to deal with it.
